Pink Hygiene is today joining thousands of others in supporting World Cancer Day, an initiative which is held annually on 4 February and is dedicated to raising awareness of cancer and encouraging its prevention, detection and treatment.
Since its launch in 2000, World Cancer Day continues to be the single initiative under which the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), its member, partners and the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.
Cancers are among the leading causes of death worldwide, with recent forecasts from Cancer Research UK specifying that one in two people will now develop cancer at some point in their lives, a big change from the previous figure of 1 in 3 people.
It is therefore more vital than ever that we continue to raise awareness and encourage people to seek medical advice if they have any signs or symptoms.
This year the World Cancer Day campaign will focus on four key areas: choosing healthy lives, delivering early detection, achieving treatment for all, maximising quality of life.
