Pink Hygiene Director, Adam Speck, went back to school this Summer, providing valuable support to the local school community.
Volunteering to take part in a Year 10 mock interview exercise, Adam returned to Southend High School for Boys to provide real-life interview experience for Year 10 pupils at the school.
All 150 Year 10 students had to respond to a job advert for a school-leaver’s junior post at a London boutique bank by submitting their CVs and covering letters. On the day, all pupils were put through a real interview process, with scores being awarded for the best CV, covering letter and interview. Feedback and advice was also given to all students taking part.
Adam commented “It was great to go back and see my old school after so many years and great to provide this valuable experience to the group. There were some very impressive individuals and with the feedback provided, I hope this will stand them in good stead when they leave school and venture into the working world”. He continued “The world of work can be a big culture shock to that of school life so I believe this is a great initiative to give the pupils a taste of the competitive and challenging nature of the work place that awaits them after their exams”.
Pink Hygiene are proud to offer this support to the local school community and look forward to taking part in other such events next year.
